Promedon was present at the last ISAKOS Congress (International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery & Orthopedic Sports Medicine), held on May 15-19 in the City of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The ISAKOS Congress is considered one of the most important events in the world in its field of specialization, and gathered professionals specialized in Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy, Arthroplasty and Traumatology.
The program mainly included joint-related pathologies and arthroscopic and non-arthroscopic knee treatments.
Arthrex, our international partner in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine solutions, and leader in this market segment, was one of the main sponsors of the event. It had an important stand in which members of Promedon Argentina and Chile were present, and in which the most innovative shoulder, knee, hip and small joints solutions, as well as those solutions for knee and femur realignment were exhibited in the form of workstations. One of the most visited workstation was the one exhibiting the system for Platelet-Rich Plasma (ACP) processing and application. This stand also devoted considerable space to NuBoom, a system combining state-of-the-art imaging and excision equipment into a single structure.
The more attractive launches were ACL TightRope for ACL reconstruction; the new materials of BioComposite and PEEK implants; the new CounterLock Plate titanium plates for knee alignment; Meniscal Cinch and Swivel-Lock for shoulder treatment; as well as Small Joints solutions.
In addition to the activities carried out at the stand, Arthrex organized two meetings: “Current concepts in ACL Reconstruction and Knee Alignment” and “Scientific Fundamentals for the Use of ACP in Orthopedic Procedures and Shoulder Update”, presented by well-known medical doctors such as Andreas Imhoff, Stephen Burkhart and Philippe Hardy. Due to exhibitors’ excellence and to the appealing topics, both presentations were fully booked.
